Hi there, my name is Brianna Lakin and I am the New Life Office Manager for Kern County Teen Challenge. I have worked for Teen challenge for more than seven years. this year is my 10 year anniversary of sobriety. September 1 of 2015 I came in through the doors of Teen challenge 85 pounds and detoxing cold turkey off of heroin and methamphetamines in which I used to be an IV user. My only hope at that time was to get the help that I needed to overcome addiction. What I got was deliverance from all the hurt pain and trauma that I experienced throughout my life what I got was a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ that helped to change the trajectory of my entire life because this program was free. I was able to get the help I needed at no cost to myself. I had nothing to give but everything to gain and because nothing was expected of me. I had the freedom to just lay everything down at the feet of Jesus today I get to go back to the streets and serve people that are struggling in their own addiction by offering them hope and help right where they are at.
