Hello there,
My name is Andrew, and I'm a student at Teen Challenge Ministry Institute. I am participating in one of our annual fundraising events called the Walk for Recovery. The ministry of Teen Challenge helped me not only get off drugs and alcohol but gave me a place that I can further build a relationship with Jesus Christ.
I had started drinking alcohol to deal with the abuse I had experienced as a young child. Growing up I had resentment towards my mother for not being there because of her own addiction with alcohol and allowing the abuse to take place. When I was in my twenties my addiction started to get out of hand and so I went to Teen Challenge; I graduated, had a child and got married but soon after was divorced. I could not cope and so went further in my addiction picking up drugs I would never have begun to use, and it robbed me quicker than I had realized. I had lost my home and custody of my daughter. I could not stop using and soon found myself in and out of jail. By the grace of God, I was sentenced to Teen Challenge again and this time took full advantage believing in the promise and purpose God has for me.
Now I am pursing the call God has for my life, working in ministry and in doing so have been reconciled to my daughter. God has fixed my relationship with my family and now I am saved by Jesus Christ to live out His promise and glorify Him!
Thank You
