Hello and blessings to everyone,

The time has come again for the Southern California 5k Walk for Recovery. Southern California is truly an amazing place. Teen Challenge offers 9 locations with over 700 beds for individuals, both men and women, to encounter God and be discipled through a year-long residential program. These beds are provided free of charge for those in need who desire this help. This is where your partnership comes in. Whether it's $5 or $500, your contribution helps bring people out of addiction, set them before the Lord, introduce them to the gospel, and the life Jesus desires and laid the foundation for – this is the heart of this ministry.

As for my journey through Teen Challenge, I am well into my fourth quarter of the Ministry Institute. This quarter feels like a sprint to the finish line, though I see graduation not as an end, but more as the launch of a new boat into the water. I am still praying for God's voice to guide me in the direction I will go upon completing this profound chapter of my life. As Paul said, "Run the race in order to obtain the prize." Here, that looks like being placed on a team of fundraisers to be fine-tuned in the art of door-to-door communication. This not only spreads the word about Teen Challenge and raises awareness but also serves as a testament to the work the Lord is doing through us. It's such a blessing and an incredible opportunity. We are studying Introduction to Theology with Pastor Jeremy, and it is exactly that – an introduction – but it is so insightful and thought-provoking that it leaves me wanting more. Pastor Ken is leading us through Biblical Leadership, and trust me, just like when you pray for patience, you might not get what you expect. This leadership class is very inspiring and sharpening, like a proverbial belt sander or grinding wheel refining all the edges and burrs that need to be removed. I am really leaning into all that this Institute has to offer and feel refueled and ready for the work the Lord is laying before me.

I hope to see your partnership in this 5k Walk for Recovery. Together, as Jesus said in Luke 2:49, "Didn’t you know I must be about my Father's business?" Let us be about this business of reconciliation God has called us to.
