I used to think recovery was just about getting clean.

But for me, it became about learning how to live again.

There was a season where addiction had completely numbed who I was. I burned bridges, isolated myself, and honestly didn’t recognize the person in the mirror anymore. I carried shame, anger, pride, and pain everywhere I went — even when I acted like I was fine.

Then I walked into Teen Challenge with nothing left but a small amount of hope.

What I found wasn’t perfection. I found people who understood brokenness. I found structure when my life had chaos. I found brothers who pushed me to keep going when I wanted to quit. Most importantly, I found God meeting me in places I thought were too far gone to redeem.

Recovery isn’t a straight line. Some days are battles. But today I walk with purpose, faith, and a future I never thought I’d have.

That’s why I walk for recovery — because freedom is possible, and no one is beyond restoration.
