I walk for recovery because I know that someone once walked for my husband.

Years before I ever met him, a stranger in Teen Challenge showed up for him when he needed it most. Teen Challenge offered him something priceless: a free path to sobriety when he had nowhere else to turn. Because someone believed in him, he got his life back. And because he got his life back, we have each other. We have a family.

Recovery is possible — but it doesn't happen in isolation. It happens because people choose to show up, to give, to walk.

There are still people out there who have been forgotten. Pushed aside. Written off. People who have never had a single person fight for them.

That is why I walk. So that every forgotten person knows there is still a chance. So that the same grace that saved my husband's life might reach someone else. No one should be left behind simply because they couldn't afford a second chance.
